One of the main areas of research of Leitat is the development of environmental technologies applied to water, in particular technologies are relevant to countries suffering from water scarcity, salinisation or contamination of ground water, or droughts combined with lash floods due to extreme weather events. These are problems that are common to many Mediterranean countries, but also many countries worldwide, or instance the areas of India involved in the INDIAH2O project.
