As part of a capacity-building training for Lebanese university staff in Lebanon (15–20 September), Matej Kliman (Bohemian Center) and Nisrine Haddad (SADER & Associates) shared expert insights on how universities can protect valuable know-how and research assets. The discussion was further enriched by comments from Pauline Aad (Notre Dame University), who emphasized the importance of maintaining detailed lab notebooks in academic research.
The session highlighted practical tools such as lab notebooks, material transfer agreements (MTAs), and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), key instruments for safeguarding confidential knowledge and supporting innovation commercialization.
