In this session from the September capacity-building training in Lebanon (15–20 September), Sarah Chahine (Lebanese International University) and Matej Kliman (Bohemian Center) discussed the challenges and opportunities of technology transfer in Lebanon.

The conversation highlighted Lebanon’s existing intellectual property framework, including laws on trademarks, copyrights, and patents, while pointing to the need for greater awareness of IP protection and commercialization processes. The speakers also emphasised that technology transfer is not only about large-scale innovations, but can also grow through supporting smaller research and innovation projects that build a stronger innovation ecosystem.
