The Lebanon Reforestation Initiative (LRI) seeks a qualified Botany Expert to conduct a comprehensive flora assessment in three northern Lebanese villages: Akkar El Atika, Andqet, and Qoubaiyat.
The study will provide a scientific understanding of plant diversity, distribution, ecological status, and conservation priorities to guide current project interventions and inform future conservation and protection strategies.
Under the supervision of LRI’s Technical Team and in close coordinaotin with World Vision Lebanon, REEF
Team, the Established Regreening Commitees and relevant authorites, the Botany Expert shall undertake the
following tasks:
-Desk Review
- Field Surveys and Data Collection
- Flora Assessment and Analysis
- Conservation Needs Assessment
- Stakeholder Consultation

The researcher will gain experience in collaboration with an internationally funded initiative (DFAT via LRI) and contribute to high-profile environmental research.
Eligibility
Individual experts based in Lebanon.
With demonstrated expertise in botany, flora assessment, ecological surveys, or conservation science.
Experience conducting field assessments in Mediterranean or high-altitude ecosystems is highly desirable.
Ability to produce clear technical reports and recommendations for environmental projects.
